Suntanning Safety

General June 22nd, 2009

Within a couple months I’m off to beautiful Hawaii for a joyous vacation of sport in the sunshine. However living in a land-locked area of the continental United States, I tend to be more accustomed to snow and clouds, even while in the spring.

My to-do list is very long before I feel truly prepared for my vacation, a few taks more prudent than others. However the one I’m blogging about in this blog involves my pasty white skin.

I do know that it is a myth how building a foundation tan might help you prevent sun burning, but that doesn’t stop me from becoming inhibited about appearing so ghostly white and void of a tan in an region where everybody is accustomed to dressing in skin-revealing clothes while playing in the sun.

So to help me feel at ease and uninhibited while on my cherished and rare vacation, I’ve inquired the best ways to establish a natural looking suntan before hitting the pretty Hawaii beaches.

One option will be an airbrush sunless tan. With this sunless suntanning option, I can have a professional tanning studio cautiously apply and tone my suntan to my spec.

I do understand that many folks believe I should try a commercial tan bed instead of a sunless spray suntan, but I’m not crazy about overdoing my UV ray exposure. The minimum amount of melanin within my humble hide might make me especially susceptible to skin harm.

I’m looking to drop my inhibtions so I can completely decompress and savor my vacation, not initialize a chronic campaign to develop symptoms of melanoma or spots from tanning.

It is my understanding that those white spots from tanning are more liable to occur with commercial tanning beds, either because of a fungus caught in a less-than-sanitary public facility or because of lines or spots on my skin made from the pressure points of reclining in the bed.

So I have narrowed my spray suntaning to a couple of well-established suntanning parlors. I may just grab a suntanning cream to apply in the privateness of my house, however I think I will begin with a salon sunless suntan than maintain it with a sunless tanning cream.

From my search, I am positive I can avoid the hokey appearance which people pigeonhole of sunless tanning, but I guess you never know for sure until you attempt it yourself. I will be certain to refine my sun-free suntan long before I leave for vacation so I can refine the process and perfect my tan to look my most natural as I get on vacation.
