Enhance Your Health With Glyconutrients

General July 29th, 2009

The word nutraceuticals is an unofficial term that come from the combination of nutrition and pharmaceutical. The word is meant to describe natural food-based (nutrition) substances that have pharmacological (healing) effects on the human body. Nutraceuticals is a relatively new term used by the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine for all natural, standardized, non-toxic dietary supplements designed to optimize health through improved nutrition.

Essential glyconutrient are a new and more specialized type of nutraceutical. They back the process our individual tissue cells use to recognize, and communicate with, each other.

Of the 200 monosaccharides that are found naturally in plants there are at least eight essential monosaccharides (also known as simple sugars or Gluconutrients) that are not digested and burned as fuel like how we think of most sugars. Instead this group of eight Gluconutrients is structural building blocks incorporated as whole molecules directly into the cells within your body and are involved in a remarkable array of biological functions. These are functions that control everything from individual cell structure and function to cell-to-cell communication and protection for each single cell in the body.

Everything in the body depends to some level on these molecules. And it has been discovered that when they are missing it disallows our immune systems from functioning at full capacity.

Food is one of our most basic needs. However, in our modern society fresh food is a thing of the past. The so called fresh fruits and vegetables we buy nowadays have little nutritional value because they are grown in nutrient-deficient soil, picked before they ripen by nature, gassed, irradiated, by artificial means ripened and stored for days before we consume it. Thus, our diets lack the essential building blocks of useful foods vital to our health and well-being.

In our diet nowadays, the eight necessary glyconutrients are often missing. Most diets today contain only two of the eight glucose and galactose. Glucose is supplied from such food sources a wheat, rice, and sugar cane. Glucose and galactose are supplied through the breakdown of lactose from dairy sources.

To ensure that you have all eight glyconutrients in your diet you have to know the food sources of each nutrient or take a glyconutrient supplement. The simplest way to obtain these precious nutrients is through a supplement. Luckily, with todays high technology, we are able to extract the necessary eight glyconutrients and put them in supplement form.

Glyconutrient supplements are accessible from many brands and come in capsule and bulk powder forms. It is recommended that you follow the directions to ensure you receive the minimum amount of nutrients per day to enhance the bodys functions. You can find these wonderful glyconutrient supplements at your local or internet health food store.

Atkins Grapefruit Diet

General July 29th, 2009

There is a diet that really has nothing to do with the Atkins diet, called the Atkins Grapefruit diet, that combines elements of it’s famous namesake and an all grapefruit diet. Don’t look now, but it may not be what people hope.

First of all it’s pretty difficult to find information on the Atkins grapefruit diet plan. One common element of cons is that clear information is generally hard to find. This possible con does it’s best to make people assume it has something to do with the official Atkins diet.

Does the Atkins grapefruit diet have anything to do with the actual Atkins diet? The answer is no, not only is there no mention of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet on the Atkins web site, but there is no fruit of any kind mentioned in the list of allowed foods in the Atkins diet Induction phase.

Here is what can be eaten in the induction phase – sorry Atkins grapefruit diet, no fruit here:

Fish of all kinds

Flying game such as turkey and chicken

Shellfish of any variety

Meat, such as beef and pork

Every type of cooked egg including poached, scrambled and even fried

Cheese

Vegetables

Herbs and Spices

A variety of fats and oils including butter

Water and other low carb drinks including diet soda

Not a piece of fruit to be found. Later phases of the Atkins diet for fat loss do include limited amounts of fruits such as cantaloupe and even lemon juice, and the pre-maintenance and maintenance phases even specifically allow small quantities of grapefruit. But there is far more grapefruit in the Atkins Grapefruit diet than Dr. Atkins would ever dream of allowing.

The Atkins Grapefruit Diet recommends a cup of grapefruit juice or a cup of grapefruit sections, with 8 and 18 carbs respectively. But the Atkins diet calls for no more than 7 grams of carbs in a day. the two diets just don’t mesh.

When they hear about the Atkins grapefruit diet people should naturally visit the Atkins web site to read more about it. When they found no mention of that diet on the site, a red light would go off and an alarm would sound.

Truth about diets review: Keep this in mind. Any diet that relies too heavily on one food or food group is going to be unhealthy. The philosophy of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet is counter to that of the Atkins diet.

Different Auto Insurance Escalation Rates

General July 29th, 2009

It is very clearly established that car insurance is extremely important, and once you are the driver of your own vehicle it is imperative that you insure your vehicle against any potential damages. There are two options for you to look at, a flat rate premium and an annual escalation.

An annual escalation is prone to the fluctuations of the interest rate as well as having a normal increase at the end of each completed year. This may not be preferable for everyone, especially those who wish to know the set amount they will be paying monthly. It can be difficult on a budget, especially if the interest rate rises, for the monthly premium to suddenly increase.

On the other hand, a fixed, or flat, rate will normally be a bit more expensive in comparison to the annual escalating rate. This is because the amount that you pay every month will be the same, regardless of changes in the interest rate. The car insurance company will have to take the interest rates into consideration and ensure that they will not be at a loss. Many people will prefer to pay a slightly higher amount for the fixed rate option because they will enjoy the peace of mind with knowing the exact amount they will be paying every month.

Although working the fixed car insurance rate into your budget can seem more stable, you will also need to learn to turn a blind eye if the interest rate goes down, and you know you could have been paying a lot less!
