Tell me, what is all this I hear about the Acai Berry palm?

If you missed the episode of Oprah Winfrey in which she introduced the world to the acai berry, and you are tired of wading through the various ads for acai berry products just for some basic information, you’ve come to the right spot.
The acai berry is simply this: a small purple or red fruit that grows in South America, specifically in the Amazon rain forest. The tiny little berry, which needs to be used within 24 hours of being picked, is, for many reasons which we explore later, a wonderful addition to any meal or snack; it’s great just on its own, too.
Eating acai berries or using products that include acai berries can provide you with additional vitamins (A, B, and C, specifically), amino acids, omega fatty acids (that’s the good kind of fat that your body really likes), antioxidants, and fiber, just to name a few of its benefits. Acai berry has been shown to have properties that make it a powerful appetite suppressant, too.
There are a ton of benefits to using acai berry products, some of which have been tested and scientifically proven, some of which have not been.
