Lively Holidays to Corfu
General September 25th, 2009
Corfu is a greek holiday island featuring spectacular cliffs on the west coast, lively and quiet resorts, lovely beaches with a scattering of parasols and sun-loungers, idyllic villages , fertile valleys, verdant forests and mountains to the north with sweeping views of Corfu, the greek mainland, Albania and even Italy (from Mount Prantokrator) on a clear day. There are a wide selection of options when it comes to touring around Corfu island. If you’re searching for a truely extraordinary and romantic Greek island holiday then you’re certain to be seduced by the holiday paradise of Corfu. In addition to the peaceful resorts Corfu also offers some lively resorts such as Kavos, Sidari and Kassiopi Corfu.
If you are yearning for a full fortnight of sun and sand and you like to party by night and relax by day then the resort of Kavos at the southern end is your kind of place. The place is brimming with bars and clubs … and the bars and clubs are packed with people whose idea of an excellent time is likely to match your own. In Kavos, holidays neatly divide into two time zones – under-the-sun and after-dark. For the former there’s a beautiful sandy beach extending five miles from start to finish – so plenty of sun bathing space there. If you’ve got the energy to get active, there are watersports from pedaloes to parasailing. And while the beach is fairly enclosed, its gentle slope into the sea gives you broad shallows – faultless for relaxing on a lilo.
Kavos has an abundance of little shops, more than you’ll ever need, offering an abundance of shopping choices with everything from T-shirts to sun cream. There are also a couple of traditional tavernas, there are an array of cafes excellent for grabbing some fast food or to try out an English breakfast – throughtout the day. So nosh can be very cheap. Kavos really kicks off after dark though. You should pace yourself in the clubs, pubs and bars if you adore partying till the small hours. For couples on holiday to Kavos, the San Marina Hotel ticks those boxes. If you are searching for a late availability holiday to Kavos, there are usually loads of bargains.
At the north east tip of the island there are also plenty of resorts to suit every taste. The resort of Kassiopi is really lively but not to the extent of Kavos. The tempo rises after dark when the youngsters troop to music bars and the families uncover an authentic taverna for dining and discussing the holiday. Further around the north coast is the resort of Sidari Corfu which offers clubs, bars, pubs and restaurants galore and an array of places to help you party dusk-till-dawn. It is fair to say that Corfu features holidays to suit most tastes.
